Introduction
The prostate stromal tumor originates from mesenchymal components of the prostate. Prostatic leiomyosarcoma is a very rare malignant disease and is considered that surgical resection with robotic approach is challenging.
Patient information or Clinical findings
A 39-year-old man presented with incidental retroperitoneal pelvic mass, whose ultrasonography showed a 4cm sized heterogenous mass in the left prostate lobe.
Diagnosis and/or Treatment
The preoperative diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma was based on prostate biopsy findings. The patient underwent robot assisted radical prostatectomy. In histopathological findings of the radical prostatectomy specimens, tumor was confined to prostate parenchyme and surgical resection margin was free of tumor.
Outcomes & follow up
The abdominopelvic computed tomography performed after 8 months of surgery showed no demonstrable abnormal lesion around operation site.
